1. Requirements

Before using the demo, ensure your environment meets the following criteria:

  • Browser: Chrome, Edge, or Opera (WebHID API is required).
  • Hardware: DynaFlex II Go or DynaProx connected via USB.
  • USB Mode: Device must be in HID Mode (default).
  • Permissions: You must grant the browser permission to access the "MagTek DynaFlex" device when the popup appears.

2. Quick Start

Initialize Connection

Click Open and select your device from the list. The status icon will turn green and display "Connected".

Choose Operating Mode

Check the Auto Start box for automated listening, or use the dropdown to select a manual command.

Perform Transaction

Tap an mDL/NFC card, swipe an MSR card, or insert a contact chip. Results will stream to the Device Response Console.

3. Connection Management

Control Action
Open Starts the WebHID request. Essential for all other buttons to function.
Close Drops the HID session. Use this before unplugging or switching devices.
Clear Wipes the LogData textarea and the image display area.

4. Auto Start Configuration

The Auto Start features allow the reader to automatically handle identity and payment flows without requiring manual hex commands.

Identity Modes
  • mDL Age/KYC: Requests Mobile Driver's License data via NFC.
  • mPASS Age/KYC: Requests Mobile Passport/Digital ID data.
  • EMV: Standard financial transaction listening.
Interface Toggles
  • Contact: Enables the chip slot.
  • Contactless: Enables the NFC landing zone.
  • MSR: Enables the magnetic stripe reader.

Note: When Auto Start is enabled, the reader will re-initialize these settings every time a connection is opened.

5. Command Library

The Command List dropdown contains pre-formatted hex strings. Selecting one will populate the Command Data field.

  • EMV Group: Includes "Start Transaction" for All, MSR, Contact, or Contactless interfaces.
  • PIN Functions: Specifically for DynaFlex II PED models to request encrypted PIN entry.
  • Display/Audio: Test commands to change screen orientation or trigger the internal beeper (positive/negative tones).
  • NFC/NTAG: Advanced commands for reading raw Mifare or NTAG payloads.
  • Device Info: Retrieve Serial Number (SN) or Firmware versions.

6. Troubleshooting

Ensure the USB cable is fully seated. Check if another application (like MagTek Test Utility) is already using the device. WebHID can only access the device if no other process has a lock on it.

Verify the device is in the Connected state. Commands sent to a closed HID port will fail silently or log an error in the browser's developer console (F12).

Select "DynaFlex: CANCEL Transaction" or "Reset Device" from the Command List and click Send Command.
