Donation Demo - Help
Welcome to the help guide for the Donation Demo application. This tool demonstrates how to accept charitable donations using MagTek hardware, featuring a customizable tile interface for quick amount selection.
Getting Started
The application is designed to work with MagTek devices via WebHID. Upon loading, the application will attempt to automatically connect to a compatible device.
- USB Status: Check the top left corner of the navigation bar. It will display "Connected" or "Disconnected" based on the device status.
Making a Donation
There are two ways to select a donation amount:
- Quick Tiles: Tap any of the preset amount tiles (e.g., $1.00, $5.00). Tapping a tile adds that amount to the total. You can tap multiple tiles to build a custom total.
- Custom Amount: Enter a specific value directly into the "Donation Amount" field.
Once the desired amount is set, click the Make A Donation button to proceed. This will initiate the transaction process (simulated in this demo with a confirmation alert).
Click Clear to reset the donation amount to $0.00.
Configuration
You can customize the donation tiles to suit your needs:
- Click Layout in the navigation bar to open the configuration panel.
- Enter the desired # Tiles and click "Next".
- Input the dollar amount for each tile.
- Click Save to apply the changes. These settings are saved locally in your browser.
Advanced Settings
The Configure Unigate link in the navigation bar allows for advanced device and gateway configuration settings.
